Christopher Bommarito

 

Christopher Bommarito has been a practicing forensic scientist for twenty years with the Michigan State Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration and his own Williamston, MI based forensic laboratory, Forensic Science Consultants.  He has also taught forensic science courses in the graduate program in forensic chemistry at Michigan State University.  Mr. Bommarito has served as a forensic expert in trace evidence, crime scenes and drug analysis and testified in over 200 criminal and civil cases, including many high profile cases.  He currently the President of the Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (MAFS), the nation’s largest regional forensic science organization with a membership of approximately 1000 scientists from over 30 states.  In 2003, Mr. Bommarito received the honor of being named “Outstanding Scientist” by that organization.  His research has been published in several forensic books and journals, with his most recent publication on soil analysis recognized by faculty at Oxford University.  Mr. Bommarito holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Criminalistics and a M.S. in Forensic Science, both from Michigan State University.

 

Christopher Bommario will present a lecture entitled  "Chemistry Solving Crime: Analytical Chemistry in Forensic Science" at the Fourth Annual Wakarusa Valley ACS Local Section Lecture & Awards Ceremony at 4:00 PM on April 25th, 2008, in the KU Student Union Big 12 Room, University of Kansas Main Campus, Lawrence.
