Poster Contest
“Celebrating
Chemistry:
Then and Now”
PRIZES!
For

room for starting your poster will be part of the Carnival!
“The
real purpose of looking back is not of course, merely to obtain
satisfaction from reflecting on past triumphs; rather, it is to discover
as many clues as possible to the likely developments of the
future”---Glenn T. Seaborg, 1976 ACS President
Chemistry—It’s part of everything that you see, touch,
taste, or smell. Chemicals
make up the food that you eat; the clothes you wear; the computer you
use; the medicines you take, and your body.
As part of NCW-2001, and in recognition of the 125th
Anniversary Celebration of the American Chemical Society, students are
invited to draw a poster illustrating how chemists and/or chemistry have
contributed to positive changes in the quality of our lives in the past
125 years.
Participants might consider carrying out the theme by using
topics such as:
¨
Communications:
Then and Now
¨
Cooking:

¨
